Bill Rushforth and his wife Nita begin Rushforth Construction building small commercial projects and homes

1952
Kaz Nakamura joins Rushforth as its first employee

1969
The company achieves sales of $1 million

1970
Rushforth Construction is incorporated in the state of Washington

1976
Randy Rushforth joins his father at the company 

1980
Bill Rushforth retires and Randy becomes president 

1982
Rushforth builds a new office in Fife, Washington and focuses on retail construction throughout western Washington

1984
Judy Skinner, a long-time Rushforth employee, becomes a partner in the business

1985
The company starts focusing on negotiated, team-based projects

1989
Rushforth enters the senior housing market with its first skilled nursing facility 

1990
To accommodate its expanding business, Rushforth builds a larger office next door to its Fife location and leases out the older building

1993
Kim Nakamura becomes vice president. Rushforth starts a service division for small tenant improvement projects  

1997
Brad Nakamura joins the company as chief financial officer 

2003
Company achieves annual volume of $50 million

2006
Rushforth purchases S.G. Taylor Construction and opens a Seattle office

2007
Kim Nakamura is named president and Randy Rushforth becomes chairman of the board

2009
Adolfson & Peterson Construction (A&P) of Minneapolis purchases Rushforth, which becomes A&P's sixth region office
