A Commitment to Construction Safety: Adolfson & Peterson Construction Achieves Four Million Consecutive Hours Without a Lost Time Accident

08/18/2010
Adolfson & Peterson Construction (A&P) has a very strong commitment to job site safety and a very lofty goal to go along with it: five million consecutive hours without a single lost time incident. As of August 16th A&P surpassed four million hours, putting the company well on its way to meeting that goal.
Fred Rippy, A&P’s National Safety Director, is the person in charge of making sure that each one of A&P’s 600+ employees knows, understands and lives the company’s aggressive safety standards, and that safety is the first priority on A&P’s 260+ job sites. Fred comments, “The difference between a near-miss and a fatality is 1 second or 1 millimeter so it is important to create a mindset amongst all employees that makes them intolerant of any potentially unsafe situation. With our company’s focus on safety, we are all careful to prevent accidents by looking out for each other and taking action when we see potentially unsafe behaviors or conditions.”
Doug Jaeger, A&P CEO, states: “A&P has won numerous local and national safety awards over the years, but the best reward is knowing that we are ensuring the safety of everyone that is on or near one of our job sites.”
