Alcyone

Seattle, Washington

Alcyone is a 162-unit market rate apartment building located on the northwest corner of Minor and Thomas. The 200,000 square foot, five-story apartment building was constructed of light gauge metal frame.  At ground level, the building features 1,600 square feet of retail space for a restaurant, built above two floors of cast-in-place concrete parking for 164 vehicles. One of the first multi-family structures of this scale to use metal stud construction in Seattle, the construction type was chosen to further the owner's sustainability goals. Included in the project is a public courtyard with mature plantings surrounding Thomas Street frontages as part of the City's Green Streets program.
