Aldercrest Apartments

Seattle, Washington

Located in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Aldercrest Apartments is a new building containing 47 apartment units and 60 below-grade parking stalls. Construction began by demolishing three wood frame houses and the abandoned foundation of a fourth house, followed by the removal of 3,000 cubic yards of soil. Due to the slope of the site, we designed and installed an extensive site retaining system including berms, which allowed the building and ground floor walk-up units to be incorporated into the hillside. The building's exterior featured vinyl siding, wood trim, and wood deck rails which, along with its "into-the-hillside" design, blended well with the surrounding neighborhood.
