This senior living campus is nestled in 12 acres of wooded property near downtown Coeur d’Alene. The project consists of a new, 45,065 square foot, two-story Assisted Living and Memory Care building featuring 35 one bedroom and studio apartments, along with private and shared rooms for 34 Memory Care residents—all of which adjoin 120 units of independent apartments. The design also includes an exterior balcony adjacent to the main Dining Hall to provide options for private dining, an interior courtyard, exterior plaza, activities rooms, and a meditation garden for resident use located in the enclosed Memory Care courtyard. A separate 1950’s four-story brick infirmary will be renovated for a future use.
The facility has approximately 25,000 square feet at grade and an additional 19,000 square feet at a second story. The building is Type II construction utilizing an Insulated Concrete Foundation (ICF) system providing for a core of concrete in the exterior walls exterior walls, steel joists and deck, and pre-engineered steel (or fire treated wood) roof trusses. Not only does this construction method provide for a high rating in fire resistance, but it will contribute to lower energy costs for the building. The scope of work included civil work, interior finishes and all required support functions for the facility.
