This project entailed an 8,000 sf second floor addition to an existing 17,000 sf central office building, along with renovation of existing spaces. Like much of our work for telecommunications companies, sensitive switching equipment inside the building had to remain in service throughout construction, requiring extensive pre-planning and coordination. Our team erected temporary roofing and enclosures to ensure a weather-tight system, so the integrity of the equipment inside would not be compromised when the existing roof was penetrated. Other Critical Environment issues required HVAC shut-downs for no longer than twenty minutes to prevent temperatures from rising above allowable limits for the equipment, and completion of electrical cut-overs within two hours. Our outstanding expertise in meeting all these critical areas successfully maintained phone service to this phone company's customers.
