YMCA Teen Center Addition

Lakewood, Washington

The Teen Center Addition to the Lakewood YMCA is a two-stor.y 17,000 square foot building addition aimed at getting teenagers off of the streets by bringing them to the YMCA after school and for late night activities. The Teen Center addition features a full size gymnasium with 6 basketball hoops, a teen activity center for teen concerts and other activities, a computer activity center and a new boardroom. The project is constructed of structural steel and concrete block. Careful pre-planning during the Team Build pre-construction process resulted in a smooth trouble free project. Gifts-in-Kind were a major consideration of the owner for this project. We obtained commitments from our subcontractors for gifts-in-kind and developed a detailed tracking system so that the YMCA knew the gift amounts and when they were made.
